The Center, founded in 2010 and distributing news through its website, IowaWatch.org, and various news outlets statewide, is the only non-profit, non-partisan news and student training organization of its kind in Iowa. With its three-fold mission: public service, education, and sustainability, the center is dedicated to:

A challenge has been given us. The Ethics and Excellence in Journalism Foundation, which has given us three major grants totaling $275,000 since 2011, has awarded another $25,000 but as a matching grant. Our task is to match that with new funding. This is significant support for making our journalism available to you without charge.

Local support is key to non-profit, non-partisan news organizations such as ours. We hope to expand our reporting with the kind of depth that the public needs to be better decision makers, and to go into communities for conversations about this reporting.

You can support not only this journalism but our training of critically thinking young journalists who can sift through the superficial and be our next generation’s watchdogs. Your tax-deductible contribution may be made here or by mail: Iowa Center for Public Affairs Journalism, PO Box 2178, Iowa City, IA 52244-2178
